1 - Munch n' Brunch

Whether you’re a breakfast or lunch person, brunch is always a great idea to start off your Valentine's Day. And depending on what you both like, you can opt for traditional breakfast foods such as pancakes, omelettes, and hash browns at a local favorite like Black Bear Diner or Bistro 135 in Tracy, Los Gatos Cafe in Los Gatos, Cafe Gourmet in San Jose or something trendier like The Press in Livermore, Plow in San Francisco, Dinah's Poolside Restaurant in Palo Alto, or Feride's Bakery in Santa Clara.

2 - Hugs, Kisses, Flowers, & Chocolates

A little can go a long way and, as we all know, it's really the thought that counts!

If you plan ahead, you can get your loved one plenty of beautiful flowers and treats very affordably, but if you snooze, well, you may just lose out if items are sold out or very expensive last minute.

We recommend checking out your local Costco wholesaler if you're a member or the neighborhood grocery store and you'll be surprised to find gorgeous fresh flowers for a fraction of the price of online flower merchants. You can also pick up a nice treat like a box of chocolates while you're already there! That's two birds with one stone! And we bet your loved one is going to fall in love with you all over again for remembering him or her!

3 - Watch a Fun Movie

Sometimes the best fun is simply relaxing at home in sweats or pajamas watching a romantic comedy on Netflix or lounging at a local movie theater with a fresh box of salty popcorn.

Valentine's Day is all about slowing down, enjoying each other's company, and having fun together. Whether it's a new release or an old classic, your movie time is sure to be enjoyable, snuggling and laughing with your partner.

Some fun movie ideas include 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, Sleepless in Seattle with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, or Hitch with Will Smith.

4 - Enjoy a photoshoot

Why not celebrate the love you both have for each other with a fun and candid photoshoot? The best memories are the ones that live on, and a cute photo framed on your wall is the best way to remember the love you both share.

We recommend a peaceful outdoor location to enjoy nature together while capturing fun photographs. A nearby park, stream, lake, vineyard or beach make for great locations and day out activities. Think Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Sausalito, or Bodega Bay.

A 30-minute mini-session is perfect between activities (like after brunch and before a stroll in the park), while a custom session can be as long as you'd like and wherever your heart desires.

5 - Wine & Dine

For all those romantics out there, the perfect way to cap off your Valentine's day is a candle-lit dinner at a classy restaurant.

Top on our list of romantic restaurants include The Grandview Restaurant on Mt. Hamilton in San Jose, Pacific's Edge near Carmel-by-the-sea, Cellar Door in Pleasanton, Uncle Yu's At the Vineyard or Simply Fondue in Livermore, Galpao Gaucho in Napa, Dio Deka in Los Gatos, and Gary Danko or Waterbar in San Francisco.

6 - Evening Alone

Why not hire a baby-sitter or ask a family member to watch your kids for the night? Sometimes all you need to rekindle the love you both share is some alone time.

The possibilities are endless in the comfort of your own home. You can cook dinner together, enjoy a bottle of wine, watch a movie, talk and reminisce of all your shared memories, and other fun ideas that we're sure you can come up with yourself.

The best part of an evening alone is you can do whatever you'd like wherever your heart desires. Stay out late and remember what it feels like to be in love all over again!
